Pick a Year
Following discussions in late 2004, in early 2005 51% share of the Spenco Healthcare International Ltd business was bought.
In 2007 the remaining 49% of the SHIL business was purchased. The idea behind this acquisition was for SHIL to act as an internal sales and marketing company, taking Focus Product Developments Ltd own manufactured products to market.
As a result of the acquisition FPD were now to own the entirety of SHIL product portfolio enabling sole control over existing products and future innovations. The acquisition for SHIL came about as a result of the company experiencing financial difficulty. For this reason it was paramount that with sole control FPD analysed the existing product portfolio to decipher those products with potential and those without, in order to tie any loose ends and cease production on the products that were draining the budget.
After an extensive market analysis and internal review of products, it was decided the forward plan was pressure area care and innovations into the 'dermal pad' product. After a series of meetings with Tissue Viability Nurse, Jacqui Fletcher, a new range of anotomical shapes were designed formally known as Aderma.

Million £ Turnover
2007 was the year in which Focus Product Developments Ltd hit the million £ marker in annual turnover.
The company's success came as a direct result of growth in the manufacturing of ostomy accessories for our external partners, to which we still have strong working relations.
Review of Quality Manual
Following the acquisition of SHIL the quality system manual was reviewed in order for both companies to work systematically and operate under the same standards.
In May of 2006 the manufacturing department of Focus Product Developments Ltd moved to a seperate location to occupy a 5,000 sqft purpose designed unit.
